W badaniu dokonano oceny polityki społecznej i gospodarczej prowadzonej po akcesji Polski do Unii Europejskiej. Zmiany dysproporcji dochodowych gospodarstw domowych były analizowane poprzez ocenę zmienności stopnia polaryzacji ekonomicznej. Ponadto poddano ocenie zmiany nierówności dochodowych. Badanie przeprowadzono dla lat 2000-2014. W analizie polaryzacji zastosowano indeksy polaryzacji, a dla zobrazowania zmian nierówności dochodowych - współczynniki nierówności.
